You Gotta Try This Hotel…
Do you hate traveling to a different city because you never know where to stay? Or are you one who loves the experience of trying new places?
Either way, we’d like to give you a great starting point. In this post, we’re collecting our members’ collective advice on great places to stay – both in Florida and outside Florida.
Let us know the name of the hotel and where it is. Tell us why you love it — is it because it’s a great bargain? great location? great history? We’ll take any recommendation, whether it’s for business travel or just for a great vacation spot.
Thanks for your recommendations!

Let me start this off by giving a recommendation for the Riverview Hotel in St. Mary’s, Georgia. If you’re going to Cumberland Island, this is the place to stay. We stayed there during the Section’s Long-Range Planning Meeting and had a very good time.
This is an hotel that is not part of a chain. It is in an old building, but has been renovated and kept in good shape. It has clean comfortable rooms, a friendly bar downstairs (which you can see in the photo gallery posted on this site for the Long-Range Planning Meeting), and is right across from the ferry dock. You can walk to just about everything in St. Mary’s from here, including the little ice-cream shop across the street.
Give it a try some time!
